Cancellation & Refund Policy

Reservations & Payment

All reservations at BytheSea Inn require a valid credit card to guarantee the booking. Full payment is due seven (7) days before arrival and will be automatically charged to the card on file unless alternative arrangements have been made in advance. Reservations made within seven days of arrival may be charged in full at the time of booking.

California 24-Hour Cancellation Protection

In accordance with California law, reservations made at least 72 hours before the scheduled check-in time may be cancelled without penalty within 24 hours of booking confirmation. A full refund of all amounts paid, including applicable fees, will be issued to the original payment method within 30 days.

This protection applies to qualifying reservations, including non-refundable and promotional rates, except where exemptions under California law apply.

Standard Cancellation Policy

Guests may cancel their reservation without penalty up to seven (7) days before their scheduled arrival date.

Cancellations received after 4:00 PM Pacific Time, seven days before arrival, are subject to a cancellation charge of up to 100% of the reservation total, except where prohibited by law.

If the cancelled accommodations are successfully rebooked for the affected dates, we will credit the amount recovered from the replacement reservation against the cancellation charge. When all affected room nights are rebooked at an equal or higher rate, a refund will be issued less a $25 per-room administrative fee, where permitted by law.

Non-Refundable Rates & Special Offers

Reservations booked under non-refundable rates, advance-purchase discounts, or promotional offers are not eligible for cancellation refunds after any legally required cancellation protection period has expired, except as otherwise required by law.

Group Reservations, Extended Stays & Holidays

A thirty (30) day cancellation policy applies to whole-inn reservations, group bookings totaling five or more room nights, stays of five or more consecutive nights, and designated holiday or peak-demand periods disclosed at booking.

Unless otherwise stated in the reservation agreement, full payment is due 30 days before arrival. Cancellations received after 4:00 PM Pacific Time, 30 days before arrival, may be subject to charges of up to 100% of the reservation total, subject to applicable law and any amounts recovered through rebooking.

Non-refundable deposits may be required for these reservations. Deposit amounts and payment terms will be disclosed at the time of booking. All reservations remain subject to applicable California cancellation protections.

Reservation Changes, Early Departures & No-Shows

Reservation changes are subject to availability and may result in additional charges or rate adjustments. Changes to reservation dates do not automatically extend the original cancellation deadline.

Early departures and no-shows may be charged for the unused portion of the reservation, subject to applicable law and the rebooking provisions of this policy.

Refunds

Approved refunds will be returned to the original payment method. Refunds required under California's 24-hour cancellation law will be issued within 30 days. Other approved refunds will be processed promptly, although posting times may vary by financial institution.

Third-Party Reservations

Reservations made through third-party booking platforms may be subject to the cancellation terms disclosed during the booking process. All applicable California consumer cancellation rights will be honored.

Special Circumstances

We understand that unexpected circumstances may arise. BytheSea Inn may consider exceptions for documented emergencies on a case-by-case basis. Any cancellation or refund rights required by law will be honored.
